Client Overview:
The Wollombi School Community Centre (WSCC) is a volunteer-run organisation in the Hunter Valley, NSW, dedicated to preserving the historic Wollombi School site and fostering learning opportunities for children and adults in the community. As a not-for-profit educational resource, WSCET supports the development of onsite study programs, community workshops, and cultural events that celebrate local heritage and lifelong learning.
Project Goals:
The goal of this project was to design and launch a modern, user-friendly website that reflects the heritage and purpose of the Wollombi School Community Education Trust. The site needed to showcase upcoming events and classes, encourage community involvement, and provide clear information on how to become a member. It was also important that the design honour the charm and character of the historic building while remaining easy for volunteers to maintain and update.
Our Approach:
We created a warm, welcoming WordPress website that balances the school’s historic charm with modern functionality. Built with Elementor, the site includes a dynamic events calendar powered by the Modern Events Calendar plugin, allowing users to view and register for upcoming programs. An online membership form encourages community participation, while clear navigation makes it easy to find information about site activities, educational groups, and events. The result is a user-friendly platform that connects the Wollombi community and supports the Trust’s mission to promote lifelong learning.
