What is web hosting?

A web host is someone who makes it possible for everyone in the world to see your website. They give your website a home on their servers, making sure your site is connected to the internet 24/7. They ensure that when someone types your domain name into a web browser, they find your website.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a unique name that identifies a website – for example, mine is www.rapidwebsites.com.au

Can I register any domain name I like?

No. In Australia, you must follow the rules for Australian Domain Name Registrations. You must be an Australian registered company, or business with a registered business number (ABN). The domain name you order should either be an exact match, acronym or abbreviation of your business name. International domain name registration is much more flexible – anyone can register any name.

I don't know anything about the internet. Will you be able to explain what information I need to provide you with?

Yes! Many of my clients have little experience with the internet. I will make this process as simple as possible for you.

What does the $2,200 Small Business Website include?

A five-page WordPress website, basic SEO work, Meta-tag and content advice for better SEO, and detailed instructions explaining how to login and make simple website changes yourself. Additional pages can be created for $88 each. I can also manage your web and email hosting, and domain name registration.

When will payment be required?

To help out small business owners I stagger our payments for the website build.

25% deposit up front for us to begin the project
25% on approval of the design concept
50% balance payable once the site is live.

How long will it take to get my website up and running?

It depends on the size of your site, and also on the quality of the information you provide us with. In many cases I can have your site online within 10 business days.

I already have a web host - can you build me a website?

No. The Rapid Website package is an all inclusive package including hosting. I only build websites for customers who are also hosting their websites with me.

Can I see real websites built by Rapid Websites?

Yes! Look through my WordPress Website Examples at real sites I have built.

What will it cost to make minor amendments to my website?

All my WordPress websites include detailed written instructions so you can manage the site yourself. Sign up for one of my cost effective WordPress Maintenance Plans, and I’ll include email support for your WordPress related queries. If you need additional work carried I charge $88/hour, with a minimum charge of 15 minutes.

How do I know what sort of information I should include on my website?

Simple! I will guide you as to the best page structure for your website, and offer helpful hints on the types of information to include.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes! My websites are built using WordPress, one of the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS) on the market. You don’t require any technical skills to use WordPress – if you can send an e-mail or use Microsoft Word, you can update your own WordPress website. All you need is a browser such as Firefox, Safari or Chrome. Once your website is live I provide you with a document explaining how to login to WordPress, and how to make simple changes to your website.
