Client Overview:
The Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (NSW Branch) is the peak body representing recreational and sporting shooters throughout New South Wales. The association supports more than 70,000 members through affiliated clubs, training, competitions, advocacy and educational resources, while promoting the safe, responsible and ethical use of firearms.
Project Goals:
The existing website had become difficult to navigate and manage, with a large volume of information spread across numerous sections. The project involved developing a completely new website and refreshed visual identity, improving the user experience, restructuring complex information, and creating an easier-to-manage platform for staff while continuing to provide valuable resources for members and the wider community.
Our Approach:
This was a collaborative project completed alongside Lani from The Story Shed, who developed the new brand identity and managed the project on behalf of SSAA NSW. Working closely together, we transformed a large and complex website into a modern, intuitive resource that better supports both members and prospective shooters.
The new website includes a carefully planned content structure using multiple custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields, making it significantly easier for staff to manage branches, shooting disciplines and training information. A substantial amount of content was migrated from the previous website, while ensuring the site met the association’s strict requirements around imagery, terminology and content presentation. The result is a scalable website that provides clear access to licensing information, safety resources, club details, training opportunities and association news, while streamlining ongoing content management for the client.
