Australasian Dark Sky Alliance

Client: Australasian Dark Sky Alliance

Project Complete: August 2025

Client Overview:

The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance (ADSA) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the natural night sky. Their mission is to reduce light pollution and inspire communities, organisations, and decision-makers to embrace better lighting practices that benefit people, wildlife, and the planet. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, ADSA works to preserve one of our most precious natural resources – the beauty of darkness – for future generations.

Project Goals:

This project aimed to create a digital home that reflects ADSA’s passion and purpose while serving as a trusted information hub. The website needed to speak to a diverse audience – from curious individuals and educators to councils, planners, and corporate partners – guiding each visitor toward meaningful action. It also needed to make membership, donations, and webinar bookings straightforward, helping the organisation strengthen its community and impact.

Our Approach:

We designed a content-rich WordPress website that celebrates the wonder of the night sky and the science behind light pollution. Using a dark, atmospheric palette and celestial imagery, the design evokes a sense of calm and connection. Built with Elementor, the site is structured around ADSA’s three key audiences: Community and Individuals, Organisations and Decision Makers, and Industry and Corporate Partners. A robust search function ensures visitors can easily explore articles, research, and resources, while integrated membership, donation, and event booking systems make engagement seamless.

Key Features:

  • WordPress website built with Elementor for flexibility and scalability
  • Clear pathways for diverse audiences with intuitive navigation
  • Searchable database of educational resources and articles
  • Online membership registration and secure donation options
  • Event booking system for webinars and community sessions
  • Blog and news hub sharing advocacy updates and success stories
  • Embedded videos and interactive learning content
  • Consulting service information for councils and corporate partners
  • Accessible, mobile-friendly design optimised for all users.
